EduLead represents a unique partnership among Virginia Commonwealth University, the University of Richmond and four Central Virginia school divisions.
EduLead’s founding partnership originated between VCU’s Center for School Improvement, led by Dr. Jo Lynne DeMary, and UR’s Center for Leadership in Education, led by Dr. Tom Shields. EduLead’s partnership continues through the VCU School of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership. The local school divisions that round out the partnership are:
- Chesterfield County Public Schools
- Hanover County Public Schools
- Henrico County Public Schools
- City of Richmond Public Schools
EduLead seeks to build capacity for aspiring, new, and established educational leaders in the greater Richmond area through:
- Establishing a continuum of professional development opportunities and school based support;
- Ensuring a pipeline of quality school-level leaders; and,
- Creating quality school-level impact and evaluation studies
EduLead’s Advisory Board is comprised of funding entities, scholars, practitioners and national experts who guide EduLead’s activities and research.
EduLead receives funding through corporate gifts as well as individual contracts with school divisions throughout the country. |
